Job Summary:
The Corrosion Technician will provide support in a range of technical and operational assignments including direct and indirect inspections, analysis, corrosion mitigation, collecting and reporting inspection data, monitoring equipment installation, cathodic protection installation, coating application, liquid and coupon sample collections, chemical treatment oversight, and special projects. Candidates will be required to have good working knowledge of corrosion monitoring and mitigation processes. This position is located in Western Midstream’s Rockies Region in the PRB.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the internal corrosion control industry
- Prefer AMPP (NACE) Cathodic Protection Tester (CP1), Cathodic Protection Technician (CP 2) certification or Internal Corrosion for Pipelines (Advanced) certifications
- Effective verbal and listening skills

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to WES Core Values and policies
- Perform field testing of corrosion control systems
- Cathodic Protection
- Pipe to soil surveys
- Maintain field equipment
- Soil resistivity testing
- CIS, ACVG, DCVG and PCM surveys
- Preform coating inspection
- Internal Corrosion
- Installation and monitoring of internal corrosion testing equipment
- H2S, CO2, O2, and MIC testing
- Basic corrosion morphology inspections
- Liquid sample collection
- Assist in chemical injection design and oversight
- Provide field support for design and testing
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Compile and submit field data for senior staff review
- Be familiar with standard survey and construction practices for corrosion control projects
- Organize and perform multiple small projects simultaneously
- Have a good working knowledge of PHMSA regulations and AMPP (NACE) best practices
- Maintain OQ compliance for assigned DOT tasks
- Promote WES damage prevention and pipeline safety
- Adapt to changing work environments
- Additional duties or special projects may be assigned based on company discretion
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications / Licenses:
- A valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Travel Requirements:
- This percentage of travel required for this position is 0% - 10%. Candidate must live within 30 miles of Gillette, Wright or Douglas.
Work Schedule:
- The standard schedule for this position is 4/40 or 5/40 Monday – Friday.

Required to wear assigned personal protective equipment.
Ability to safely work and operate a company vehicle in extreme outdoor weather.
