Job Summary

This position is in Gillette, Wyoming as a member of the UTWY Maintenance team supporting the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler position is responsible for Planning and Scheduling of all maintenance work utilizing planning and scheduling resources to conduct maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler works directly with the Maintenance Team as required for managing work priorities, developing job plans, defining parts and materials, defining crafts and skills, and engaging the proper resources to develop a safe, effective, and efficient work plan.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops preventative maintenance work orders (PM) and task lists, working with the Subject Matter Experts for the different types of equipment.
  • Update and review PM work orders periodically and revise the PM plans, job steps, task lists, parts, and/or frequency
  • Assembles work packs to provide the workforce with the necessary equipment information, drawings and job steps
  • Generates the work orders on the defined frequency and schedules them for completion
  • Reviews new and incoming work orders daily
  • Reviews completed work orders daily to verify labor, hours and parts are recorded in the system
  • Reviews work orders for any required follow-up and additional tasks
  • List detailed job steps and tasks for incoming work orders
  • Orders and pre-kit parts for the job
  • Arranges for any required specialty tools
  • Develops required labor hours and manpower
  • Organizes contractor support if required
  • Assembles the list of work orders to be completed the next week
  • List of work orders will include PMs, safety, equipment down tasks, and general maintenance functions, and what day and/or shift the functions are to occur

 

Functional Coordination

  • Works with operations to agree on priorities and assure equipment availability
  • Works with maintenance to assure work force resources are available
  • Coordinates weekly planning and scheduling meeting with affected functional groups (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, etc.) to review present week’s schedule compliance, next week’s schedule including workload and equipment / resources availability.

 

Equipment Outage Coordination

  • Assembles a list of tasks and work orders for equipment outages to minimize downtime frequency.
  • Lists all work orders and tasks that will need completed including PMs, Safety, equipment downtime tasks, and general maintenance functions
  • Generates the required labor hours by day and shift and determine what jobs will be completed by maintenance and contractor
  • Orders parts and materials for the outage
  • Determines what mobile equipment and rental equipment will be required
  • Pre-kit all parts and tools for the outage

 

Reports

  • Generates reports to monitor the daily, weekly, and monthly Plans (KPIs);
  • Generates reports for past due and uncompleted work orders (PM and CM)
  • Provides budget estimates as required

 

Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent GED.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience on Oil and Gas / Refining / Petro Chemical or similar Industries
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs, especially Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, Isometric and Construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems, such as: SAP PM
  • 2 years of planning and scheduling experience (preferred)

 

Certifications/Licenses
Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.

 

Relocation
This position is not eligible for domestic relocation. Successful candidate must live within 60 miles of Gillette, Wyoming.

 

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 10-30%.

 

Work Schedule

This position will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday.
