Job Summary
The Damage Prevention Foreman position provides leadership to a team responsible for damage prevention activities, including line locating and excavation monitoring for Saltwater Disposal (SWD), Gas, and Oil pipelines and facilities across West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. This position ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, manages the One Call ticketing program, supports GIS mapping efforts, and coordinates excavation monitoring. The role prioritizes the safe, environmentally sound, and cost-effective management of Western Midstream's infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pipeline operations or damage prevention, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Extensive knowledge of locating, excavation, and damage prevention practices is required.
- Proven ability to train and lead teams in damage prevention activities.
- Strong knowledge of Texas811 and NewMexico811 regulations and One Call agency programs.
- Certified Competent Person for excavation, or a demonstrated history of safe digging practices.
- Proficient in GIS mapping, including ArcGIS, iMaps, and One Call ticketing systems (e.g., DigTix). Familiarity with spatial data processes is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of work practices and compliance with state and federal regulations related to pipeline and facility operations.
- Manage and oversee the processing of One Call tickets, field audits, and ad-hoc compliance checks using tools such as ArcGIS, Google Earth, and DigTix.
- Supervise the scheduling and execution of line locates and excavation monitoring to meet regulatory and company standards, working with third-party stakeholders.
- Coordinate with GIS teams to maintain accurate spatial data and mapping for pipeline and facility infrastructure as needed.
- Foster collaboration between excavators, operators, and internal teams to ensure safe practices during third-party activities.
- Lead the development and implementation of training programs for team members to ensure adherence to damage prevention and compliance standards.
- Support remediation and mitigation projects to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Serve as the company's field representative for One Call-related activities and damage prevention initiatives.
- Represent Western Midstream at industry-related and public awareness meetings, with the ability to effectively communicate and present publicly.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions preventing the operation of a company vehicle.
Travel Requirements
- Must live within 75 miles of Kermit, TX or Midland, TX.
- Occasional travel (10-25%) required for field visits, inspections, and industry events.
Work Schedule
- 5/40 schedule with on-call availability.
