Job Summary

This Position is in Western Midstream (WES) as a member of the Engineering & Construction team located in West Texas. The primary role of this position will be to oversee E&I inspection staff and contractors to continue enforcement of WES standards, industrial standards, current electrical code, and good industrial practice. Execute job responsibilities with professionalism and integrity, to limit rework and electrical workplace hazards. Identify construction design deficiencies by reviewing drawing packages and being involved with inspection staff daily. Assist construction team with managing contractor RFI transmittals to WES PM’s and engineers. Be a leader in the WES Live Safe culture making safety the top priority. In this role you will be responsible for multiple construction sites at the same time and need to be able to manage his/her time effectively.

 

Qualifications 

  • Must have carry a current journeyman’s electrical license (Master electrical license is preferred)
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with industrial electrical installation and/or electrical inspection.
  • Must have 5 years of oil and gas construction experience.
  • Be well versed with typical construction practices relating to electrical work and the National Electrical Code (NEC NFPA 70).
  • Be well versed in the approved methods of construction for safety of persons and equipment NFPA 70E.
  • Be able to understand Area Classification as directed in API-RP-500 and NEC Article 500.
  • Have a good understanding of Instrumentation, tubing and automation systems.
  • Know how to read and under standard O&G industrial drawing packages, One-Lines, P&ID’s, ISO’s, and flow diagrams.
  • Have strong organization skills and written/verbal communication skills a must.
  • Must be able to lead/direct consultants and others related to electrical project issues.
  • Must be able to work effectively with both engineers and operations personnel.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong computer skills working with programs like Word, Excel, Kofax, Projects.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Adhere to WES LiveSafe, Lifesaving rules, Core Value policies and good catch program.
  • Construction site Safety: Make sure all contractors are abiding by the Western Midstream safety culture and rules.
  • Use Stop Work authority when needed to keep all on site personnel safe.
  • Manage E&I inspection staff.
  • Safety incident notification to HSE and E&C management in the event of an incident.
  • Work with PM’s and project Engineers to ensure that all designs are functional and work with plant/facility design and follow WES E&C standards.
  • Liaison between engineering and E&I contractor to streamline construction progress.
  • Assist with coordinating and scheduling of electrical PSSR’s with team members.
  • Oversee and assist inspection and contractors with completing WES ITR forms to create complete project job books.
  • Work with contractors to Manage and oversee WES Building permits.
  • Assist inspection with managing and verifying redline drawings from EC and engineering to verify accuracy.
  • Verify area classification ratings on equipment and instrumentation.

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical Trade School or Electrical engineering.

 

Certifications / Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
  • High School diploma or GED Required, with a preference for Associates degree, Trade school or applicable professional certification.
  • Licensed electrician Journeyman or Masters (Wyoming, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, or Utah). Masters license is preferred but not required.

 

Travel Requirements

  • This percentage of travel required for this position is 0% - 25%.

 

Work Schedule

  • A 14/14 rotator schedule will be considered for this role.

 

Work Environment:

  • Required to wear assigned personal protective equipment.
  • Required to wear FR clothing.
  • Ability to safely work and operate a company vehicle in extreme outdoor weather.
