Job Summary
This Electrical “E & I” Tech position located in Western Midstream’s Southern Region as a member of the Delaware Basin Midstream Operations team in the Bone Springs Plant located near Barstow/Pecos, Texas.
Qualifications
- Experience / training on applicable electrical equipment, 138 KV, 25 KV, 21.6 KV, 4.1 KV,480 Volt (HIGH, Medium, Low Voltages) and electrical control systems required with relevant oil and gas, oilfield experience preferred. Power substation electrical experience +.
- 480 V Switchgear and MCC experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and controls systems, and components.
- Ability to troubleshoot VFD equipment, and motor circuits proficiently.
- Ability to read and Red Line electrical drawings.
- Ability to assist electrical engineering as necessary.
- Experience in the use of computers and proficient knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and associated safety requirements.
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Process Safety (PCS) within Process Safety (PSM) facilities.
- Experience in maintenance and operation of gas processing plant equipment including various type hot oil heaters, pumps, fans, blowers, and filters is desired.
- Experience with saltwater disposals and large electrical motors.
- Proficient troubleshooting abilities.
- Electrical oil and gas construction experience.
- Power line construction experience.
- West Texas working environments. (as required)
Responsibilities

- Coordinate/perform maintenance duties required to maintain operations and regulatory compliance.
- Read and understand maintenance/operations manuals for equipment specifications parts and procedures to make proper and timely repairs.
- Maintain effective communications, provide ideas, raise concerns, and work with other functions including plant supervision, engineering, plant operations, I&E, other maintenance employees, clerical staff, and contractors.
- Assist the team in the daily economic optimization of operations (Plant and Field Areas)
- Coordinate operations with other Delaware Basin personnel as required.

- Ensure that accurate timely data is entered and recorded within computer based preventative and predictive maintenance programs, drawings, procedures and schematics.
- Assist and supervise contract operations as required for maintenance and operations.
- Stay abreast of changing technology through training opportunities.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Electrical trade schools, NECA, military electrical schools, state electrical licenses, engineering courses, qualifications are preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
Valid US driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Relocation
Successful candidate must have residency within a 50-mile radius of the assigned work location – near Barstow, Texas.
Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.
Work Schedule
This position is on a 5/2 schedule and may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
