Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado, and the Powder River Basin in Northeast Wyoming. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Southwest Wyoming.

We’re engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, recycling, treating and disposing of produced water for our customers. In our capacity as a natural gas processor, we also buy and sell natural gas, NGLs, and condensate on our behalf and our customers under certain gas processing contracts.

Job Summary

This position is located in Western Midstream’s DJ Basin Midstream operations area with functional reporting out of our Longmont, Colorado office.

 
Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-year experience working in the natural gas gathering and processing industry preferred.
  • Possess basic understanding of the use, monitoring and repair of various meters used in measuring the flow of natural gas and crude oil products.
  • Mechanical aptitude – experienced using hand tools.
  • Basic electrical knowledge – how to use voltmeter, basic wiring, and electrical principles.
  • Working knowledge of gas measurement.
  • Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word and Excel, and preferably Outlook.
  • Ability to work outside around noisy heavy equipment and in variable environmental conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and working with fractions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Occasional long hours of being on your feet or standing.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting or driving.  
  • Ability to bend, twist and turn your body without complications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurement calibrations, maintenance, and associated tasks in accordance with industry/WES measurement standards.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of electronic flow data collection systems.
  • Schedule, conduct, report and perform accurate sampling for measurement settlement tests or as required.
  • Perform installations and repairs of natural gas and liquid measurement equipment. Equipment could include; Composite samplers, PD meters, Moisture analyzers, Oxygen analyzers and Valve control.
  • Order, receive and stock parts associated with metering equipment.
  • Perform calculations for gas volumes and orifice plate sizes.
  • Collection and editing of electronic volume data.
  • Witness product purchase, meter calibrations and product quality testing.
  • Ability to respond to call out requests and work irregular hours as needed for maintenance, relief, and emergency situations.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of communication systems.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Proper use and care of company tools including vehicles, hand tools, and calibration/test equipment.
  • Professional conduct with reputable character and personal integrity in alignment with Western Midstream Core Values.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent required.

 

Certifications/Licenses

Valid US driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
 

Relocation

This position is not eligible for relocation. Candidate must live within 50 miles of Longmont, CO. 

 

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.
 

Work Schedule

Standard work schedule is 4/40 Monday-Friday requiring rotation for weekend and holiday on-call coverage.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $38.00 - $59.75; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in the Western Midstream Cash Bonus Program, plus offers a competitive benefits package that emphasizes pay-for-performance compensation, work/life balance, premium health benefits, and a top-tier savings plan. Able to perform the essential functions of the position, including safely lifting and moving equipment, climbing stairs, working around industrial equipment, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
