Job Summary:
The Commissioning Foreman ensures safe, timely, and efficient facility startup by verifying systems are installed and functioning per project specifications. This role requires strong coordination across departments, vendors, and contractors to support successful project execution and operational readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct P&ID (Piping and Instrument Diagram) walkdowns at 50%, 75%, and 90% project completion to identify and resolve issues early.
- Collaborate with project management to address missing components, access requirements, and operational needs.
- Develop and implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures with Operations for shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Provide on-site training for operators and contractors regarding system changes and long-term impacts.
- Perform N2 purge and integrity tests to ensure oxygen removal and leak-free systems before hydrocarbon introduction.
- Oversee compressor and pump alignment with qualified personnel (CAT and Waukesha certified).
- Supervise daily activities of commissioning team and contractors.
- Lead tailgate safety meetings and review JSAs (Job Safety Analyses).
- Liaise with vendors for quotes, scheduling, and on-site support.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience is required
- The ideal candidate for this position should possess five (5) years’ experience with mechanical construction associated with pipelines and facilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical principles
- Ability to perform construction tasks
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft office suite)
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required
- Previous leadership experience required
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Education:
- High School diploma or GED Required, with a preference for Associates degree, Trade school or applicable professional certification.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 10%+.
Work Schedule:
- This position will be a 14/14 rotating shift schedule, and the candidate may be required to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays.
