Job Summary:
The open position is for an Environmental Representative for Western Midstream’s Delaware Basin Asset as a member of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Team. This position will be located in Midland, TX. The position will support environmental compliance activities within our West Texas and New Mexico operations.
Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of Environmental experience required
- Specific knowledge and experience working with midstream oil and gas operations including gas processing plants, compressor stations, and oil treatment sites, gathering pipelines, or equivalent exploration and production experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State (TX & NM) environmental regulations including SARA Title III-Tier II, Endangered Species Act, SPCC, RCRA, NORM, Spill Reporting, Remediation, Waste Management, and TRI Reporting
- Understanding of environmental requirements associated with remediation activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with operations, engineering, technical staff, management, and regulatory agency personnel
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental, procedures, and regulations as they apply to oil and natural gas operations
- Proficient technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and internal incident management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with operations staff to ensure compliance with the Company’s Environmental Programs including SPCC, Waste, Wildlife, NORM, Stormwater, Remediation and Reclamation Management
- Data tracking, recordkeeping and reporting as required by each Environmental Program
- Develop and deliver environmental trainings to the relevant internal employees and external contractual partners
- Oversight and project management experience to support remediation activities including contractor selection and management, cost tracking, environmental sampling oversight and federal and state agency liaison
- Utilize internal incident management system to manage and track environmental incidents, lead root cause investigations, and support asset teams with corrective action plans.
- Support review and implementation of changes to environmental regulations and participate in advocacy efforts with trade organizations as required
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and computer skills are required
Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in a science, engineering, or industry related field.
Licenses:
- Valid driver's license with no restriction that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
Travel Requirements:
- Regular vehicle travel to field facilities in Delaware Basin (WTX & NM). Additional travel may be required upon business unit needs.
