Job Summary:

Western Midstream is seeking a Procurement Supervisor, Southern Ops to join the Supply Chain organization located in Midland, TX. Responsible for supporting the procurement and sourcing of materials, equipment, and services essential to the operations of the company. This position will play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, championing policy compliance, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Proven experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies.
  • Prior experience in vendor management, negotiations, and contract management.
  • SAP Experience preferred.
  • Experience within the midstream industry preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop a team of up to 5 buyers supporting Operations in West and South Texas. 
  • Balance workloads and scheduling issues of buyers to ensure coverage of stakeholders' needs at all times.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs and improve the efficiency of the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement vendor management strategies to optimize costs and improve Operations support.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Accountable for success and strategies of designated function in alignment with WES policies.
  • Finalize and negotiate terms and conditions of purchase, blanket, and service orders in line with procurement policy and legal requirements.
  • Conduct RFQs and RFPs to the standards of WES Supply Chain Management.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders, outline agreements, pricebooks, and other procurement documents.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements or technology to increase the effectiveness of established systems.
  • Develops relationships with external vendors and internal customers.
  • Provides training and mentoring support to team.
  • Responsible for operational success, strategic alignment, and integration of activities with other major organizational functions.
  • Assumes responsibility for the successful implementation of plans in a defined area of responsibility with strong business acumen.
  • Makes decisions for large-scale initiatives and projects involving own and possibly related functional areas.
  • Supports a significant number of measurable functional, operational, and strategic goals or priorities.
  • Applies subject matter knowledge to manage activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Business or other related field required preferred.  In lieu of degree, equivalent education, training, and experience can be accepted.

 

Certification/Licenses:

  • CPSM or CPSD Preferred

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel will be required up to 25%.

 

Work Schedule:

  • This position follows a hybrid schedule working in the office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
