Job Summary:
The Materials Analyst will be responsible for meeting inventory goals for “controllable and non-controllable” materials, managing tracking systems and acting as a liaison to other departments. They will also be responsible for the development and implementation of effective, facility/field wide programs to optimize material/equipment flow and delivery to plants and the field for production. This includes planning, scheduling, procurement, inventory management, logistics and associated transactions. This position is in Western Midscream’s Delaware Basin as a member of the Inventory Management & Field Logistics (IMFL) Team in Orla, TX.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in inventory control and material management and/ or warehouse/yard operations in oil & gas industry. Experience in oil & gas field operations also considered.
- Be able to multi-task, work independently and optimize Material Management procedures.
- Must possess excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Understand how different departments relate and effectively interface with these departments.
- Thorough understanding of the processes involved in ordering, procurement, and delivery of supplies.
- Detailed knowledge of the Inventory Management Processes.
- Ability to handle confidential and proprietary company data and information
- General knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures relating to warehouse/yard operations and equipment
- Understanding of SAP required
- Understanding of MS Office applications
- Strong interpersonal skills, having the ability to work across departmental boundaries with individuals of diverse competencies and levels of authority.
- Know how to use various forklifts (5k-12k types).
- Able to pick up and move 50lbs on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop/maintain an inventory tracking system to streamline our business operations.
- Actively seeks guidance, as necessary, from more experienced staff.
- Develops working knowledge of organization functions, roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Communicate with suppliers of equipment and project materials to ensure items needed for projects are readily available.
- Coordinate simultaneous operations among vendors and customers to assure operational success.
- Review daily inventory activity; maintain accurate inventory master files, manufacturer/catalog numbers and material descriptions.
- Remain current on new and obsolete materials. Maintain adequate levels of inventory stock based upon demands.
- Receive pre-pull materials lists from a variety of sources and review for coordination of loading and possible deliveries.
- Schedule maintenance for all yard lifting equipment. i.e. forklifts, tele-handlers, etc.
- Ensure (SDS) files are up to date.
- Organize and maintain warehouse(s) and inventory yard(s) areas for efficient material storage and handling, including labeling, stocking and organizing stock/material on shelving and pallet systems.
- Analyzes and solves problems identified by others related to IMFL responsibilities.
- Exhibits capability of identifying & solving problems under own direction (self-motivated & proactive).
- Responsible for overseeing inventory counts and ensures compliance and accuracy.
- Applies judgment in selecting and implementing standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Understand and apply all company environmental, health and safety policies and principles.
- Responsible for reporting of Key Performance Indicators related to the materials management functions inclusive of root cause / corrective action for areas needing improvement.
- Works well as a team member, sharing responsibility for assignments and objectives; contributes ideas.
- Communicates and troubleshoots with both internal and external customers regarding material needs.
- Maintain inventory in various yards located in the vicinity of the plant.
- At times you will be asked to travel to support other IMFL operations within the West Texas area.
Education:
- High school or GED required
Certifications/Licenses:
- Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-25%
Work Schedule:
- This position may require the candidate to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and be on-call.
