Job summary:
As an AVEVA PI System Administrator you will work directly with business stakeholders, data consumers, and data producers to make sure that SCADA and AVEVA PI data has real business value for the whole company. In a cross-functional and highly collaborative environment, you will work with coworkers who are just as excited and passionate about the value that modern SCADA data can bring to the business and our customers. You will help maintain and improve Western Midstream’ s existing PI system as a System Administrator, including in depth debugging and performance optimization, as well as collaborate to design, develop, and implement new PI based solutions for a variety of business partners with a wide range of data and analytics needs.
Qualifications:
- At least 5-10 years of professional experience in AVEVA PI as a consultant, analyst, engineer or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of SCADA (Ignition preferred), PLC, OPC, and DCS (Delta V preferred) based control systems and its integration with PI
- Expert understanding of PI Architecture including security model
- Experience Integrating and Architecting enterprise systems with PI system
- Experience integrating PI data with other systems including Cloud based systems
- Experience developing tools leveraging the PI AF SDK is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of network topology concepts
- Highly competent in implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting of PI Connectors and Interfaces including but not limited to OPC DA, OPC UA, PI to PI, RDBMS, UFL, and has successfully implemented within several projects.
- Experience consulting, building, and optimizing PI AF hierarchies, templates, analyses, calculations, event frames and notifications
- Ability to design visualization and reporting solution based on PI and Data Lake (i.e. Azure) platforms
- Experience assisting end users with the use of PI tools, like PI Vision, PI Datalink and PI Integrator is preferred
- Experience supporting other Midstream/Operations/Engineering applications is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Maintains, enhances, and optimizes existing system and act as primary support for debugging data flow, performance, and maintenance issues
- Provides oversight, direction, and act as the subject matter expert for the PI system
- Ensures data availability, data integrity, and enable business users to be successful by providing technical guidance and toolset training as applicable
- Anticipates issues involving quality and timeliness of project deliverables
- Carries out all the functions of System Admin and Software Consultants and provides the necessary Engineering support to business users and ensures that projects are delivered on time and within scope
- Consults with and provides technical guidance to business stakeholders and IT peer teams regarding data requirements, design, processes, and technical solutions
- Participates in developing standards and guidelines for end-user use of PI system and ensures adherence and tool adoption
- Works with the stakeholders and customers to understand their development requirements and prioritize these needs
- Acts as part of a team to participate, consult, and deliver new functionalities and support corporate initiatives
- Participates in making decisions regarding implementation, configuration, and installation of PI systems at sites
- Provides analysis regarding technical configurations and provides feedback to other team members
- Assists end users with the use of PI tools including PI System Explorer (to build PI AF templates, calculations, event frames, etc.), PI Vision for creation of displays, and other PI end user client tools such as PI Datalink
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Certifications / Licenses:
- Level 100 & 200 OSIsoft (AVEVA) PI Accredited certifications preferred
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is up to 10%.
Work Schedule:
- This position will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. The position will support a hybrid work location with Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the office and Wednesday and Friday remotely working from home. This schedule is subject to change. Must have the ability to access the corporate IT systems remotely to work from home.
