Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary:
Western Midstream seeks a Commercial Development Director to join the West Texas Commercial organization located in The Woodlands, TX office. This position will focus on leading commercial development opportunities in the Delaware Basin, including but not limited to, optimization and management of the Company’s existing commercial portfolio, as well as developing new business opportunities to drive growth.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years’ prior experience in Oil and Gas or midstream industry, with experience in gas, oil, or water midstream commercial/business development
  • Strong relationships with upstream oil and gas companies, midstream competitors, and various strategic partnerships
  • A solid understanding of finance and strong analytical and financial skills including economic valuation and return on investment
  • Experienced in contract negotiation and a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions
  • Advanced Excel skills (NPV, IRR, Cash Flow Modeling) and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms and conditions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with ability to interact and use influencing skills effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with external representatives
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasional travel may be required

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify large scale strategic opportunities to grow the business.
  • Maximizes commercial terms during contract negotiations relative to competitive market development.
  • Responsible for identifying and evaluating perspective growth opportunities that are presented by the team as well as implementation of strategic decisions.
  • Manage and expand business contacts within the industry through regular engagement to develop relationships, discuss current operations, identify new business opportunities, and gain market insight.
  • Develop an extensive working knowledge of Company’s assets and contracts.
  • Support the development of cross commodity strategies.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to originate and execute on expansion opportunities and system optimization.
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with other groups within the organization including Engineering, Operations, Legal, Accounting, Planning, Corporate Development, etc.
  • Presents strategic decisions to internal senior leadership team.
  • Responsible for development of communications that are presented to the Board of Directors
  • Provides mentoring and training for less experienced Commercial Development team.

 

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Science is required. Master’s in Business Administration or Finance is a plus.

 

Travel Requirements:
Travel will be required up to 15-20%.

 

Work Schedule:

This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
