Job Summary:
The Commercial Manager – Industrial & Municipal Water Treatment is responsible for driving profitable growth through the development and execution of commercial strategies for industrial and municipal water treatment projects. This role serves as the primary commercial lead for customer opportunities and partners closely with Applications Engineering to develop technical and commercial solutions that meet customer needs. The Commercial Manager manages the sales process from opportunity development through contract negotiation, project award, and handoff to execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical sales, business development, commercial management, applications engineering or proposal management for water treatment systems. One year of field service, R&D, applications, process engineering, or other technical experience in the water space is valuable.
- Demonstrated success selling engineered water treatment solutions including reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), wastewater treatment, water reuse, or similar process technologies
- Experience managing opportunities from initial customer engagement through contract award
- Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, pricing strategy, commercial risk management, and project profitability analysis
- Experience working with industrial customers, municipalities, EPC contractors, and consulting engineering firms
- Knowledge of membrane technologies, produced water treatment, water reuse, or municipal water treatment systems preferred
- Experience utilizing CRM systems for opportunity tracking, forecasting, and customer management Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and strategic selling skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while achieving bookings, revenue, and margin objectives
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a pipeline of industrial and municipal water treatment opportunities to achieve business growth objectives
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, engineering firms, EPC contractors, municipalities, and strategic partners
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through direct engagement, networking, and market analysis
- Lead commercial strategy development, opportunity assessments, and bid/no-bid decisions for key pursuits
- Partner with Applications Engineering to develop technical and commercial solutions aligned with customer requirements
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout proposal development, contract negotiations, and project award activities
- Review customer specifications, commercial terms, and contract requirements while supporting pricing and risk evaluation efforts
- Lead negotiations related to pricing, payment terms, warranties, and contractual obligations while coordinating internal approvals as needed
- Maintain accurate forecasts and opportunity information within CRM systems and provide updates to management
- Support project execution through customer relationship management, issue resolution, and identification of future business opportunities
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Water focus, or another related discipline. Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.
License / Certifications:
- A valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is approximately 25–40% largely focused on Texas with supporting national travel as needed, for customer meetings, project site visits, industry conferences, and business development activities.

- This position will be based in The Woodlands, TX. Work schedule and remote work flexibility will be based on business needs.
