Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. 

Job Summary:

This position is in The Woodlands, Texas. Western Midstream is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Corporate Accounting Manager to lead a portion of our Corporate Accounting team. This role will be an integral part of the monthly financial close and consolidation team of the partnership and be involved in managing the preparation of financial and disclosure support in the quarterly and annual SEC filings.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years or accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • The ideal candidate will have statement of cash flows (ASC 230) experience and a strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Accounting experience within the energy industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team, foster a positive work environment, and drive continuous improvement
  • The ability to produce results under tight deadlines and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with SAP accounting systems


Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility to oversee preparation of the Statement of Cash Flows and related financial statement disclosures, including analysis and documentation of the cash flow statement impact of transactions
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Oversee various corporate accounting related functions, such as debt, CECL, general and administrative expenses, intercompany accounting, and payroll allocations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accounting standards, such as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) 
  • Manage continuous improvement of reporting and analytic capabilities and procedures through execution of corporate strategy
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering professional development and team collaboration
  • Manager special projects and analysis in support of senior management as required
  • Interaction with multiple levels of the organization to understand financial and operational results to ensure accurate reporting
  • Maintain effective internal controls within assigned level of responsibility, consistent with the company's policies and procedures
     

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
     

Certifications/Licenses:

  • CPA strongly preferred.
     

Travel Requirements:

  • 0-10%

 

Work Schedule:

  • This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
