Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary:

Western Midstream is seeking a talented and experienced Master Data Engineer to join our team in The Woodlands, TX. As a Master Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our organization’s master data. Your focus will be on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and systems, ensuring master data quality, and supporting data governance initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data stewards to design, develop and prioritize capabilities to accurately capture high quality data.
  • Maintain and improve existing master data management systems while evaluating and implementing future improvements and solutions.
  • Review integration complexities of current and future systems and understand the effects of combining data from different systems.
  • Design, build, and manage data pipelines to ingest, transform, and distribute master data between enterprise systems and Azure destinations.
  • Write complex system queries into operational systems to extract datasets that meet master data source ingestion requirements.
  • Employ programming languages like Java and Python in relation to enhancing master data applications.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in administration and design of Master Data applications (e.g. SAP Master Data Governance, Profisee, Tibco EBX).
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer and/or Software Developer with proficiency in Java.
  • In-depth knowledge with Azure cloud services (e.g. ADF, Onelake, PowerBI, PowerQuery ), relational database design principles, data warehousing and data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Have proficiency in T-SQL, ETL/ELT processes/tooling, data modeling, and database design principles.
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Purview.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with developers and business users supporting requirements gathering.

 

Travel Requirements:

Travel will be required up to 5%.

 

Work Schedule:

This position will work 9 hours Monday through Thursday with 4 hours on Friday and will require Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at The Woodlands office.
