Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Western Midstream (WES) is seeking an IT Desktop & Executive Support Technician to join the Information Technology’ organization located in The Woodlands, TX.

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Desktop Support technician supporting and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This person will work from The WES office in The Woodlands, TX and provide IT Desktop Support, general computer support for WES employees and WES contract personnel, and executive support for VP/SVP’s. Job responsibilities will include installation/upgrade/inventory/problem resolution of computer hardware, software, end user assistance/training, IT equipment procurement and maintenance processes. Ideal candidate must also possess skills necessary to troubleshoot and fix A/V (Audio/Visual) related items pertaining to conference rooms. Position must use the Service-Now Help Desk ticketing system and work with outsourced Help Desk personnel. On-call and some off hours support will be required on an as needed basis. Provide backfill vacation support for other team members. Travel to other WES locations (South Texas, West Texas, Denver, Utah/Wyoming) will be required as necessary.

 

Specific skill set required:

  • Good people skills and customer service focus
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated team player who can work with little direct supervision
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating systems and Office software products
  • Good understanding of imaging, internet, networking, telecommunications, graphics and database software
  • Hands-on experience in installing and troubleshooting PC hardware, applications, printers, networks, computer peripherals and option cards
  • Excellent understanding of A/V (Audio/Visual) equipment and their troubleshooting
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends and be on-call as required
  • Driver’s license and travel to other WES locations will be required
  • Ability to lift a few ounces up to 50 pounds. Physical ability and flexibility to crawl under furniture to make computer connections

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an escalation resource for help desk Service Now tickets
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting computer hardware, operating systems, and applications. Includes PC hardware, peripherals, software, and IT equipment, data room equipment, cabling, printing, and replacing parts as required. Must also support the roll-out of new applications
  • Restore End User Data
  • Perform imaging of devices using the latest Image version
  • Relocate Devices from one WES Service Location to another following an Approved Service Request
  • Device inventory in the End User support depot at HUB/Hackett location
  • Maintain & validation of End User Device Configuration. Notify WES of any systemic compliance failures
  • Coordination with Third Party Vendors on Warranty / Recall Services
  • Quarterly rollup of all updates, apps, and patches into new golden image
  • Configure and Support Electronic Software Distribution
  • Configure and Support Mobile Device Management Tool
  • Configure, Validate, Support, and Maintain a Tool or suite of Tools to be used by remote support teams to engineer, package, test, and house images and/or image profiles
  • Support VP/SVP’s in software installations, upgrades, mobile device issues, etc.
  • Working with our conferencing room vendor, maintain the overall health and trouble shoot conference room equipment. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cohesively with users and team
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create, edit, and refine complex technical documents
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions
  • Maintain hardware inventory of IT assets. Requisition and receive hardware assets as needed by the business and by IT policies
  • Provide management with periodic status reports. Keep customer base informed of changes and issues with the IT environment. Work with IT groups to stay current on changes, initiatives, problems and experiences seen across the enterprise

 

Education:

High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in one of the following: Computer Science, Information Management or Information Technology

Work Schedule:

This position’s work schedule is: Monday through Thursday, 9 hours, and Friday, 4 hours
