Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary:

WES seeks a qualified individual to join the South Division Tactical Operations Organization and lead a team tasked with executing WES’s vision of data-driven transformation, developing the processes, tools, and reports needed to support our business, and, most importantly, planning, coordinating, and optimizing projects to ensure best-in-class Customer support and interaction.

 

This role will be based in The Woodlands, TX, and report to the Director of Tactical Operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Program or project management experience of high volume well connects, gathering pipeline projects and field gathering facilities including compressor stations, pump stations, and salt-water disposal facilities
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards for pipeline, measurement, and gathering facilities as well as applicable local, state, and Federal regulations. Working knowledge of applicable environmental and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with the project management and deployment of data driven tools or software solutions for a large organization such as Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), etc.
  • Familiar with both agile and waterfall project methodologies
  • Must be able to work effectively with engineers, IT and operations personnel
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment with strong analytical and time management skills
  • Strong initiative to work efficiently with accurate results

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team responsible for the liaison and communication between WES and 3rd party customers including operational issues/concerns, project planning/coordination, upset event coordination to ensure smooth and safe response, ensure information is shared timely and accurately and that lessons learned are transferred between all functional groups to provide best in class support.
  • Lead the efforts in the creation and routine reporting of operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Lead the efforts in the scoping, execution, and deployment of operationally driven initiatives around data, processes, tools, reports and systems to reduce manual data collection, improve workforce efficiencies and increase visibility of goals and KPI’s through the entire organization
  • Collaborate with different teams within WES to achieve the above-mentioned tasks, map ideal state workflows and processes and ensure buy in and lasting support such as: HSSE, Engineering and Construction, Field Operations, Commercia, Marketing, Measurement, Automation, Supply Chain Management, Asset Integrity, IT, EDM, GIS, etc.
  • Provide mentorship to direct line supervisors and individual contributors alike
  • Assist with Goal Setting, Performance Management and Succession Planning of team
  • Attend Staff Meetings and provide management with updates on goal progress

 

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

 

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in upstream, midstream or downstream O&G industry
  • Pipeline and midstream experience preferred
  • Experience with leading a team of full time, part time or contract employees

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Bi, TIBCO Spotfire, SQL Server, Power Apps, Power Automate or other data analytical and low/high code development tools
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or training preferred
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft office software such as Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

 

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-25%.


Work Schedule

This position follows a hybrid schedule, working in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and working remotely on Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday is 9 hours, and Fridays are 4 hours.
