Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary:
This position is located in The Woodlands, Texas and is a member of the Midstream Accounting department. Responsibilities include accounting for the settlement of residue gas, natural gas liquids and condensate for multiple gas processing plants and gathering systems.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of industry experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience related to or midstream accounting within the energy industry.
  • Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to produce results under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with system implementation/upgrades and related testing/troubleshooting.
  • Ability to apply strong attention to detail and multi-task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and use influencing skills effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with external representatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform plant and gathering system allocations and contractual settlements for midstream assets.
  • Record revenues and cost of product related to assigned assets.
  • Prepare various monthly plant settlement reports.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned assets.
  • Review contracts to be sure all revenues and costs are being accounted for correctly.
  • Identify Aid in Construction (AIC) contracts and maintain AIC amortization schedule.
  • Record manual journal entries for various transactions, including amortization and settlement.
  • Actively participate in system setups, maintenance, and upgrade testing.
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Work closely with the commercial development, marketing, and operations groups to stay abreast of changes related to assigned assets.
  • Assist with internal and external customer and auditor inquiries


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

 

Travel Requirements:
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-5%.

 

Work Schedule:
This position is eligible for the Monday-Thursday 9 hours, Friday 4 hours with Wednesday and Friday working from home.
