Job Summary
Western Midstream is seeking an Occupational Safety & Health Manager to lead the corporate safety and health function. This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for setting vision, shaping culture, and ensuring that safety is not just a priority, but a non-negotiable business value across the organization.
The successful candidate will demonstrate servant leadership and the ability to create and inspire high-performing teams. This includes connecting the mission of the Occupational Safety & Health (OS&H) team to the broader corporate vision, designing and implementing effective processes, and mentoring top talent to sustain a best-in-class function.

Responsibilities
- Lead Strategy & Implementation: Develops and drives corporate Occupational Safety & Health programs in coordination with Operations, Planning & Execution, and HSE&S leadership.
- Embed Safety Culture: Fosters a culture of prevention and accountability, embedding safety values across the organization.
- Build Partnerships: Ensures the OS&H team is a trusted partner to other business functions, aligning safety with operational and corporate objectives.
- Establish Standards: Develops and maintains corporate OS&H standards and policies that drive both compliance and performance excellence.
- Talent & Team Development: Builds a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing OS&H team, ensuring succession planning and leadership development are in place.
- Audit & Compliance: Supports internal audit processes to monitor compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, ensuring findings translate into meaningful improvements.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Leverages emerging practices and technologies to elevate performance, while ensuring consistent application of existing requirements.
- Business Case Development & Execution: Builds compelling business cases for new safety initiatives and applies strong project management skills to drive initiatives from concept to completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience with a proven track record of driving HSE performance improvement.
- Experience leading at the site, multi-site, regional, and corporate levels.
- Oil & gas or related industry experience strongly preferred.
- Direct experience supporting industrial operations in the field.
- Expertise in developing, implementing, and auditing corporate-level standards and policies.
- Strong ability to develop business cases and apply project management discipline to successfully deliver initiatives from strategy to execution.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations on complex issues and strategic decisions.
- Exceptional influential leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide teams.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, build strong relationships, and develop top talent.

Certification/Licenses
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent preferred.
Travel & Work Schedule
- Travel: 15–20%
- Work Schedule: Hybrid — in-office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; remote Wednesday and Friday. (Monday–Thursday: 9-hour days, Friday: 4 hours).
