WES is seeking a qualified individual to join the Tactical Operations organization as Manager OPS & HS&S, Data Process & Reporting. This role will office out of The Woodlands, TX location and report to the Manager, Operations Support & Services. 

The position will lead a team tasked with execution of WES’s vision of utilizing data to drive transformative change and performance across the business. In this role, the leader executes the development of streamlined operational and HSSE data and processes and identifies resources, tools, and reports needed to support our stakeholders’ needs. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead operational reporting team focused on the creation, routine reporting, automation and upkeep of  Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data driven metric for Operations in both Southern and Northern regions along with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSE&S).  
  • Reduce manual data collection, improve workforce efficiencies, and increase visibility of goals and KPI’s through scoping, execution, and deployment of both Operational and HSSE driven initiatives around data, processes, tools, reports, and systems at WES.  
  • Drive transformative change through tool utilization and provide training for full implementation and execution of processes and reporting. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in various departments and teams at WES to achieve process and report performance successes.  
  • Map ideal state workflows and processes to ensure buy-in and lasting support from cross-functional teams throughout the organization.  
  • Provide workforce planning, performance management, career development, and mentorship for individual contributors within the team. 
  • Attend staff meetings and provide management with updates on goals and/or task progress.  
  • Support the development of the departmental budget, plan, forecast, and create cost analysis.  

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Engineering, Construction Science, or Business required preferred. 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in upstream, midstream or downstream O&G industry. 
  • Pipeline and midstream experience preferred 
  • Experience with leading a team of full-time, part-time or contract employees   

 

Qualifications:  

  • Experience in the development of data analytics and tools (Excel, Spotfire, Power Bi, etc.) 
  • Experience in the development of all levels of reporting and dashboarding (from end user to senior leadership KPI’s) 
  • Experience and deep understanding of process and workflow mapping, workshop coordination with large multidisciplinary teams and associated process mapping documentation (role/swimlane process flow diagrams, stakeholder engagement surveys, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with the Oil and Gas industry, particularly Midstream, including the various disciplines, stakeholders, best practices, systems and processes 
  • Familiarity with the project management and deployment of data driven tools or software solutions for a large organization such as Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), etc. 
  • Familiar with both agile and waterfall project methodologies 
  • Must be able to work effectively with engineers, IT specialists, HSSE and operations personnel 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively and independently 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment with strong analytical and time management skills 
  • Strong initiative to work efficiently with accurate results 
  •  

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Power Bi, TIBCO Spotfire, SQL Server, Azure Database Systems, Power Apps, Power Automate or other data analytical and low/high code development tools 
  • Familiar with ACTS & INTELEX or other Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) software platforms. 
  • Familiar with Master Data and Electronic data management fundamentals and tools both front end and backend (TIBCO, Profisee, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, etc.) 
  • Data Analytics or Data Science background or training preferred 
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft office software such as Project, Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint required
