Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary:
Western Midstream seeks a Payroll Supervisor to join the Human Resources organization located in The Woodlands, TX office.

 

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in payroll administration
  • Experience with HR and payroll systems, such as ADP, SAP and/or SuccessFactors.
  • Experience with federal, state and local payroll laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Flexible work aptitude and a willingness to take on new tasks as needed
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines while providing excellent customer service to our associates
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience supervising a payroll team


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee domestic payroll processing, time collection, reporting, auditing, and data analytics
  • Oversee day to day payroll operations in USA, ensuring accuracy of data through pre-processing audits, timely payment, post processing review and signoff
  • Oversee auditing and compliance
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist HR community and payroll administrators with research and resolution of payroll/time related issue
  • Drive process improvements focused on simplification and cost reduction
  • Coordinate multi step year end process, delegate to team, and ensure all tasks are completed in regard to W2 processing and reconciliation
  • Develop simple to use tools for training and process documentation
  • Respond to associate and governmental requests as necessary
  • Maintain process documentation and procedures in an accurate and current state
  • Develop and implement best practices and key performance indicators for the team
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable, US federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, and make payroll process updates as necessary

 

Education:
High School diploma required. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.

 

Certifications/Licenses:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred

 

Relocation:

This position is not eligible for relocation.

 

Travel Requirements:

The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-5%

 

Work Schedule:

This position will work rotationally in the office. 1 Week in office, 1 week remote. M-TH are 9 hour days, 4 hour Fridays
