Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer with 4+ years of experience, ideally in the Midstream Oil and Gas sector. You will design, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, collaborate with teams, and manage projects. Strong skills in SCADA architecture, PLCs, OPC, scripting, and database management are required, along with excellent communication, documentation and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience supporting SCADA systems and recognized for technical expertise years preferred
- Oil and gas industry experience highly preferred, with a focus on Midstream sector field operations a plus
- Experience supporting enterprise-level SCADA systems (Ignition preferred)
- Experience supporting SCADA systems such as Ignition, CygNet, Wonderware, Delta V, or similar, with enterprise- level systems and Ignition preferred
- Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, networking, PLCs, and industrial control systems
- Proficient in field automation hardware such as RTUs, transmitters, switches, etc
- Familiar with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and associated data structures
- Experienced in OPC specifications and the use of OPC servers (e.g., ACM, Kepware, Matrikon)
- Intermediate knowledge of wired and wireless serial and Ethernet communications
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, and VBScript
- Solid database management experience, including SQL and data acquisition systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience resolving complex technical issues
- Knowledge of industry best practices for SCADA system security and compliance
- Efficient project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate with field operations personnel and corporate users
- Ability to follow, implement, and assist in developing enterprise standards and guidelines
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical oversight to design, development, and maintenance within Ignition SCADA systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA solutions with various hardware and control systems
- Participate in project planning, system design, and implementation, ensuring project deadlines and budgets are met
- Take the lead on projects when needed and oversee the work of contractors when external resources are required for automation support or project tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with SCADA systems, including diagnosing and debugging software, network, and hardware-related problems
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization of SCADA systems for maximum efficiency
- Develop and implement automation, reporting, and data visualization solutions to support operational efficiency
- Support the flow of data into and out of the SCADA system
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and improvements to ensure system stability and security
- Ensure compliance with industry and company standards and safety regulations for SCADA system operations
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and end users
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for SCADA systems, including user guides, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting procedures

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. In lieu of degree, experience in oil and gas operations with a strong emphasis and background in supporting enterprise SCADA functions.
*Grade and Salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 10-15%
Work Schedule:
- This position will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday.
