Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Senior Benefits Analyst

 

Job Summary:
Western Midstream seeks a Senior Benefits Analyst to join the HR Benefits organization located in The Woodlands, TX office. The position will be responsible for the administration of Health & Welfare programs, conducting annual enrollment, administration of employee benefits and, as well as, act as the primary contact/intermediary for employees and related benefit plan vendors.

 

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • 5-8 years or more of related HR benefits experience is highly preferred
  • Ability to provide consultative methods while assisting employees
  • Working knowledge of Health & Welfare plan administration and terminology
  • Skillful understanding of ERISA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, and other Health & Welfare-related regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in running employee meetings and conveying complex concepts into practical application
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Ability to design a new or improve an existing process work flow, thinking through upstream and downstream impacts, and coordinating efforts within and outside the department/company
  • Familiarity with Benefitfocus, SAP and SuccessFactors is a plus
  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Flexible work aptitude and a willingness to take on new tasks as needed


Responsibilities:

  • Administer policies and procedures related to Health & Welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability plans; fitness reimbursement, QMCSO’s, leaves of absence; employee recognition programs; and others
  • Assist with ensuring all benefit plan compliance requirements are met including testing, auditing, Form 5500 filings, PCORI fees, required notices and 1095-C reporting/filing.
  • Coordinate various activities among vendors, brokers, carriers, payroll, business partners, employees, managers and other stakeholders in all matters relating to Western Midstream’s Health & Welfare programs
  • Interpret, assist, and advise employees and managers regarding employee benefits, claim appeal process and other HR policies and procedures including monitoring and responding to dedicated benefits email inbox
  • Serve as back up to the invoicing and FMLA and disability leave programs, including tracking status and keeping SAP up to date
  • Serve as back up to the 401k, HSA, and non-qualified plan administration.
  • Orchestrate the overall annual enrollment process, including pricing, system updates and testing, printed/ online communications, any changes to plan documents, SPDs and SBCs, and the other various activities necessary for annual enrollment
  • Identify audits and reviews of benefits payroll deductions
  • Analyze disparate sources of data, interprets the results and creates appropriate recommendations for management in written and verbal formats
  • Prepare ad hoc and regular reports to aid in performance monitoring and improvement efforts
  • Recommend adjustments to standard procedures to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency and ensure process documentation is kept current
  • Address employee inquiries and ensures accurate and timely documentation and resolution of concerns or issues
  • Participate in cross-functional work teams to investigate and address complex issues involving employees and business inefficiencies
  • Create and deliver end-user training materials to vendors, HR staff, and others as needed
  • Occasionally represents Western Midstream at external meetings

 

Education:
A Bachelor's degree a plus; preferably in Human Resources, Business or related field
