Job Summary:
This position provides SCADA support for both field and corporate customers as part of the Corporate Automation team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience working with automation host software required
- Oil and gas industry experience highly preferred
- Working knowledge of oil and gas field operations in the Midstream sector is a plus
- Experience supporting an enterprise level SCADA system
- Ability to work with field operations personnel and corporate users, understand their needs and deliver solutions
- Efficient project management skills
- Understanding of field automation hardware such as RTU’s, transmitters, switches, etc.
- Familiarity with PLC’s (Allen-Bradley preferred) and their associated data structures
- Experienced in OPC specifications and the use of Kepware or Matrikon OPC servers
- Intermediate understanding of wired and wireless serial communications
- Intermediate understanding of wired and wireless Ethernet communications
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as VBScript, Python and Java
- Intermediate knowledge of host systems CygNet, Ignition, Wonderware, Delta V or other SCADA system is a strong plus
- Ability to follow and implement existing enterprise standards and guidelines
- Assist with developing future standards and guidelines
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and mentor junior team members
- Configure, maintain and optimize SCADA host software
- Provide support for automation issues that are escalated by field personnel
- Troubleshoot application, communications and hardware problems (technical and functional)
- Provide technical support to other functional teams as needed
- Design and implement HMI screens requested by operations for midstream gathering, plant and control room environments across the enterprise.
- Ensure issues are escalated to the appropriate groups for resolution
- Coordinate testing/installation of patches.
- Own major system upgrades in coordination with field personnel.
- Own system architecture, including:
- Hardware procurement/install/refresh
- System design, including location of servers/services to meet operations requirements
- Redundancy/Failover
- Ensure automation systems follow corporate standards/guidelines.
- Provide support for more advanced solutions (for example, scripted solutions).
- Actively lead projects where necessary, and/or directly oversee the work of contractors when external resources are needed for automation support/project work.
- Support the flow of data from the automation host to other systems.
- Provide SCADA training for local automation support.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. In lieu of degree, experience in oil and gas operations with a strong emphasis and background in supporting enterprise SCADA functions.
Grade and Salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
The percentage of travel required for this position is 10-15%
Work Schedule:
This position will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday.
