Job Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to Delaware Basin operations leaders and employees, delivering practical HR support that strengthens leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, organizational capability, and workforce planning across a geographically dispersed field population.
This role advises on employee relations, performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, change management, talent acquisition support, and compliance matters. Success requires sound judgment, discretion, business acumen, credibility with employees and leaders, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic operations environment.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant HR experience with a bachelor's degree, or 8+ years without a bachelor's degree.
- Progressive HRBP or HR Generalist experience supporting operations or field-based client groups.
- Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency while balancing competing priorities, responding to emerging business needs, maintaining confidentiality and supporting leaders in a dynamic operations environment.
- Ability to build credibility with frontline employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders while providing direct, candid HR guidance when needed.
- Experience advising leaders and employees on complex employee relation matters, performance management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent initiatives, and workplace concerns.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance requirements, and appropriate escalation practices.
- Ability to influence, coach, and support leaders through ambiguity, competing priorities, and business change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data and trends into practical recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR partner for Delaware Basin operations client groups, building trusted relationships with leaders, supervisors, and field employees.
- Advise leaders and employees on sensitive or complex employee relations, consistent application of company policies and practices, performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace matters.
- Support client group throughout the employee lifecycle, balancing strategic HR partnership with hands-on support in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, leave administration, training, separations, exit interviews, and associated HR administration.
- Support change management, organizational changes, restructures, leadership transitions, and special initiatives.
- Reinforce WES Core Values and behavioral expectations through communication, coaching, modeling, and leadership partnership.
- Analyze workforce trends, employee relations themes, turnover, staffing needs, and HR metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and practical solutions.
- Improve HR processes, service delivery, data accuracy, and overall client experience.
- Partner with HR COEs and other support functions (Legal, IT, etc.)
- Maintain regular field presence across Midland, Kermit, Orla, and surrounding Delaware Basin operations locations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Grade and salary commensurate with relevant education and experience.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 30%.
Work Schedule:
- This is a hybrid position that will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday.
