Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.

Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. 

Job Summary:
This position is located in The Woodlands, Texas and provides system support to the Midstream Accounting group.

 

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in oil and gas accounting.  Midstream accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with W Energy (Waterfield) and/or TIPS and SAP accounting software is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • This position requires a thorough understanding of oil and gas allocation and settlement accounting, field operations, and midstream contractual terms
  • This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees and managers
  • This position requires a flexible work aptitude, managing ever-changing priorities and the ability to produce results under tight deadlines

 

Responsibilities:  Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide W Energy (Waterfield) system support for the allocation and settlement processes, imbalances, revenue recognition implications and producer payments for Midstream Accounting     
  • Maintain effective internal controls, consistent with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Participate in special projects, testing and training as necessary
  • Develops strong working relationships with internal customers, including Midstream Accountants, Commercial Development, Internal Controls Group and KPMG
  • Work closely with Midstream Accounting and Commercial Development to understand physical product flow and commercial settlement terms and the implications of each in our allocation and settlement system setup

 

Education:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or relevant degree
  • Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience


Travel Requirements:

  • The percentage of travel required for this position is less than 5%


Work Schedule:

  • This position is eligible for the 9/80 hybrid work schedule (4 9-hour days and half-day Fridays). The schedule also includes working physically in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and from home on Wednesday and Friday
