Job Summary:
This Woodlands‑based Supply Chain Management role supports Western Midstream’s Operations and Inventory Management teams, directly impacting cost, reliability, and execution. The position requires deep midstream expertise to drive commercial value across capital and operating spend, with strong knowledge of pipelines, facilities, oilfield materials, and service contracts. Success in this role depends on the ability to influence stakeholders, manage the full purchase‑to‑pay process, and deliver continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment. Candidates without proven midstream supply chain experience will not be considered.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management within the oil and gas industry is required, with most of this experience gained at a Midstream company.
- Knowledge of Midstream Operations, Pipelines, Facilities and equipment is a must
- Proven track record of delivering advantageous commercial results across a variety of capital and operating spend categories
- Strong understanding of Oilfield Materials and Equipment (Pipe, Valves, Fittings, Compressors, Separators, Launchers and Receivers, etc.)
- Strong analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills to effectively influence change and return additional value
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal Stakeholders as well as with external suppliers
- Proven ability to assess, prioritize and respond to urgent situations on a timely basis
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Working experience with SAP S4HANA highly preferred
- Strong data analysis skills
- Market analysis/research skills
- Ability to facilitate and lead in cross-functional team settings
- Ability to multitask/prioritize based on project needs
- Ability to communicate and influence total cost decision making to key stakeholders
- Must be adaptable and focused in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong understanding of Oilfield Service Contracts (Construction, Fabrication, Pipeline Installation etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Master Agreements and Contract Administration with ability to negotiate terms and conditions on behalf of the company
- Strong understanding of the RFx Process
- Ability to create and or establish KPI’s for specific types of contracts, commodities, or contractors
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting Operations and Inventory Management teams in West Texas (Delaware Basin), as well as other stakeholders as assigned.
- Recognize that all efforts must be aligned in support of Project/Operation’s needs as well as company policies and procedures
- Create and or contribute to initiatives that result in on-time delivery of goods/services and process efficiencies.
- Present concise solutions to project team leaders on procurement resolutions
- Exhibit combination of tactical, sourcing, and inventory management skillsets.
- Drive for continuous improvements and innovation internally through asset / project teams and externally with suppliers
- Develop excellent supplier relationship management skillset with contractors and distributors.
- Develop full understanding of market forces and dynamics of onshore equipment and services
- Manage the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process for all transactions within assigned stakeholder group. This may include, among other things, Sourcing/Bid Events, Purchase Order creation/maintenance, Expediating, and follow up on account statuses
- Analyze key cost drivers in contracts/purchase orders and monitor
- Create and document contract pricing in SAP and related systems
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or other related areas of study is required; MBA a plus.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 10-15%
Work Schedule:
- This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
